Guild Guitars in 60 Seconds
Guild Guitars has a rich history rooted in craftsmanship, innovation, and working musicians. Early on, Guild focused heavily on electric and acoustic archtop jazz guitars, with much of their original workforce made up of former Epiphone employees following a 1951 strike. As the folk boom of the 1960s took off, Guild shifted toward building a respected lineup of acoustic guitars, including their dreadnought D-40, D-50, and D-55 models, along with jumbo and “F” style guitars that became favorites among blues players. In this 60-second overview, we explore how Guild evolved into a beloved brand known for character, tone, and history.
